Responsibilities
Performing skilled journey-level tasks across various trades, including building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry, specifically in the construction, maintenance, and repair of park buildings, facilities, and equipment
Reaching out to vendors to gather price quotes, calculating the costs of necessary supplies and equipment, estimating the man-hours needed for project completion, and preparing the required documentation for supervisor review and approval
Serving as a lead worker, overseeing semi-skilled laborers, laborers, and other team members throughout project execution
Employing both hand and power tools to carry out general carpentry tasks, including maintenance, renovation, and construction of park facilities
Interpreting blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to effectively repair or install various elements such as floor coverings, doors, locks, screens, roofs, soffits, fascia, spouting, windows, and decks
Planning, designing, and constructing wooden projects like storage cabinets and shelving units
Repairing, renovating, and constructing plumbing systems across all facilities, including clearing blocked drains, fixing leaking faucets, fountains, showers, urinals, and toilets, as well as replacing hot water tanks and installing or repairing sewage and water lines
Conducting preventative maintenance and performing checklist inspections on vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure their safe operation
Installing or repairing electrical systems, ensuring that all electrical work meets safety standards and operational requirements
Constructing forms for cement work, mixing cement and plaster, finishing cement with masonry tools, and pouring footers, floors, walls, and sign bases
Qualification
Required
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
You must be able to perform essential job functions
