Public Safety Records Clerk (Internal Hennepin County applicants only)
Hennepin County is the largest county government organization in Minnesota, dedicated to improving the health, safety, and quality of life for its residents. The Public Safety Records Clerk will be responsible for maintaining master booking records, conducting inmate interviews, and processing warrants while providing essential support in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Initiate and maintain master booking records and warrant files
Complete inmate interview, booking photo, fingerprint identification, and other system queries
Process warrants for initial entry and verification, accept bail/bond, set court dates, and document actions
Utilize Minnesota Justice Information Services (MNJIS) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) to perform computer inquiries
Provide fingerprinting services to the public
Respond to requests for information from the public and other criminal justice agencies in accordance with Minnesota Data Practices requirements
Qualification
Required
One of the following: Two or more years of office clerical experience
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program
Note: Education may be substituted for experience on a month for month (3 semester credits equals 1 month) basis
Preferred
Experience providing face-to-face or over the phone customer service to a diverse population
Experience providing customer/client service navigating multiple computer applications simultaneously
Experience performing data entry from paper documents and forms into a computer system
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Access), Internet Explorer, Outlook, and/or comparable programs
Experience handling multiple complex and simultaneous tasks while recognizing priorities and meeting deadlines
Experience handling confidential information
Ability to obtain a State of MN Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within 12 months
Ability to understand and abide by Hennepin County's core values and non-discrimination and respectful workplace policy
Ability to handle requests and/or complaints from inmates and the public in a confidential manner
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with staff and the public
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to work with an increasingly diverse population
