Responsibilities

Provides legal representation to the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (Agency) in Medicaid-related litigation
Represents the Agency in forensic litigation and analyzes legal issues arising from the Developmental Disabilities Centers and the Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program
Provides legal representation to the Agency related to public records, HIPAA, rules, and other areas of the law in support of the Office of the General Counsel

Required

Member of the Florida Bar in good standing
Knowledge of public records and their exemptions, HIPAA, and laws and ethics in government
Knowledge of Medicaid Law
Knowledge of Sunshine Law
Knowledge of laws and ethics in government
Knowledge of court, administrative and legal procedure
Ability to communicate with and train non-legal personnel
Demonstrate skills in electronic case research and legal document preparation
