Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for design and development activities for new and existing medical device products
Lead and support packaging design changes within the medical device environment
Drive project execution across cross-functional stakeholders and third-party vendors
Support current products related to quality, manufacturing, supply continuity, and cost improvements
Execute technical and cross-functional project work
Contribute to innovation by generating new concepts and product enhancements
Gather and interpret customer needs through literature reviews, interviews, observation, competitive analysis, and prototype evaluation
Translate customer needs into engineering requirements, product specifications, packaging, and process specifications
Engineer robust, manufacturable products using engineering fundamentals
Develop and execute test methods, including measurement systems analysis and data analysis
Write detailed technical reports for design verification, testing, and product changes
Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, safety policies, and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
4–5 years of engineering experience, preferably within the medical device industry
Strong experience with medical device packaging design changes
Project management experience working with stakeholders and third-party vendors
Demonstrated ability to use statistical tools and computer analysis
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred)
Prior experience working at BD is preferred
