Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Support month-end and periodic close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Track and maintain fixed assets and capitalization schedules
Analyze financial variances and investigate discrepancies to identify root causes
Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports in accordance with accounting standards
Develop financial analyses, models, and reporting tools to support management decisions
Gain working knowledge of inventory valuation methods and end-to-end inventory movement
Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements related to costing and reporting
Compile, review, and validate financial data for accuracy and completeness
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities by comparing actual results to planned figures
Responsible for running payroll at a much larger scale
Provide general accounting support as needed across the department

Required

Minimum of three years of hands-on accounting experience
Adept at processing payroll for over 1k employees
Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Experience working with modern accounting systems and strong proficiency in Excel

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of relevant accounting experience in lieu of a degree
Background in high-volume, consumer-facing industries preferred
