Assistant Project Director-Long Island Campus Transformation

Responsibilities
Independent leadership of large, sensitive and technically complex capital projects Supporting program leadership in directing resources and supervising contractors, consultants and in-house project to ensure that assigned projects are completed within approved schedules and budgets; meet quality standards set by drawings and specifications; and adhere to medical center construction site safety policies and procedures
Assisting in the development of standards, policies and procedures for the successful implementation and execution of projects, in consultation with departmental leadership. Ensuring that Project Managers maintain complete and accurate data using RED+Fs data systems of record (Unifier and P6). Represent the Project Executive in his/her absence, including exercising delegation of approval authority for certain actions as deemed appropriate by departmental leadership
Providing support and direction of staff to ensure accurate cost estimates, complete and coordinated design documents, adherence to site safety and infection control policies and procedures, and ensuring high quality construction. Ensuring that planning, design, and construction activities on assigned projects are coordinated both within and across the mission capital portfolios. Working with program leadership to implement systems that measure project budget and schedule performance; identifying variances early and working with project team to develop and implement plans of correction; maintaining portfolio and project performance metrics for construction safety, schedule and budget
Qualification
Required
Masters Degree in Architecture or Engineering
15 years +/- of progressive experience in engineering, architecture, design and construction, facilities management, and/or institutional facility planning
Strong background in project management and financial management of major projects
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and customer service orientation required
Preferred
Healthcare experience
Specific experience with large civil work
Professional Registration (PE or RA preferred)
