Inventory Manager
Lac du Flambeau Business Development Corporation is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee operations in the Material Management Department. This role involves managing purchasing and inventory control processes to ensure quality standards and efficient production operations.

Responsibilities
Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery timelines
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
Secure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains by identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with potential suppliers, cultivating strong vendor partnerships, and mitigating risks through careful assessment of financial stability, capacity, and quality control
Oversee the entire purchase order lifecycle, from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely processing, accurate documentation, and compliance with company policies and budgetary constraints
Manage and control purchasing expenditures by adhering to budgets, analyzing price trends to anticipate cost impacts, and implementing cost-reduction strategies without compromising quality or efficiency
Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and shifts in supply and demand to inform purchasing decisions and identify potential alternative products or suppliers
Ensure high-quality goods and services by establishing rigorous standards and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to promptly address and resolve quality concerns
Ensure that all suppliers adhere to relevant laws, regulations, ethical sourcing practices, and company policies
Develop and implement comprehensive inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, prevent stock out, and ensure timely availability of materials for production
Provide direct supervision and guidance to the Inventory Clerk, delegating tasks, setting priorities, monitoring performance and fostering professional growth
Oversee the receiving process, ensuring accurate verification of incoming shipments against purchase orders, timely logging of deliveries, and proper inspection for damage or discrepancies
Guide the Inventory Clerk in conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling physical inventory with system data, and investigating and resolving any discrepancies promptly
Collaborate with the Inventory Clerk to generate and analyze inventory reports, identifying trends, slow-moving items, and potential stockouts or overstock situations
Utilize data-driven insights to make recommendations for adjustments to purchasing strategies, reorder points, and safety stock levels
Coordinate with department heads and production teams to forecast inventory demands, communicate potential shortages, and ensure a seamless flow of materials to support production schedules
Provide leadership and guidance to the purchasing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team member growth and development
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role
Strong leadership capabilities and team management skills
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing and inventory software systems
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
A combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of education requirements
Preferred
Proven working experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role
Experience in negotiating with suppliers and managing supply chain operations
