Responsibilities

Be an intense advocate for our clients
Serve as subject matter expert regarding existing Firm legal policy applicable to assigned teams. Ensure scripts, FAQs, and client communication processes for assigned teams are documented, current, and accurate so that assigned teams can complete their day-to-day tasks consistent with Firm’s legal guidance
Interpret and apply existing Firm legal guidance to answer legal questions and escalations from assigned operations teams and second tier client escalations. Escalate questions that require development of new legal guidance to legal leadership
Partner with Staff Attorneys to maintain up-to-date legal guidance. Ensure new guidance from legal leadership is accurately updated within workflows, training materials, and knowledge bases of assigned teams
Meet established goals while supporting firmwide operational priorities. Help provide additional coverage if staff attorney tasks experience high volumes
Coordinate legal training for assigned operations teams. Reinforce existing training, refreshers, and ensure consistent application of new guidance from the legal team across assigned operational teams
Perform legal research on immigration law topics
Serve as the legal SME for operational projects, supporting process mapping, policy alignment, and implementation within assigned teams
Support process documentation and continuous improvement projects within the department

Required

J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school required
Minimum of 2 – 5 years of relevant legal experience, immigration experience required
Maintain active membership and be in good standing with the state bar association for the practicing state in which you work
Support mission of helping people currently living in America obtain their documents and stay together with their family
Computer skills (Typing - MS Word and MS Excel, Document Management-DropBox, Email - MS Outlook)
Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to follow detailed directions
Ability to collaborate effectively with non-attorney staff in a high-volume environment

Experience using a case management software system
