Technical Sales Engineer

WAZER is a company that has created the world’s first desktop waterjet, and they are expanding their inside sales organization to achieve ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will manage your own pipeline of direct-sales opportunities, qualify leads, and close sales while serving as both the technical product expert and the salesperson.

Responsibilities

Manage your own pipeline of direct-sales opportunities and interact with a wide variety of leads from every industry in the manufacturing sector, with companies of all sizes and for all sorts of applications
Own the relationship with sales opportunities from the moment they become an inbound lead to the point when the sales is closed, serving as both the technical product expert and the salesperson
Communicate with leads primarily over the phone and via email. Respond rapidly to new inbound inquiries and follow up thoroughly to move the deals forward
Employ a solution-selling methodology in your engagements with opportunities, always probing to understand the customer’s need and demonstrating how our solutions add value to them
Conduct 1-on-1 live demos over zoom where you operate WAZER waterjets and show the leads how our products work
Operate WAZER machines to cut samples for your deals, oftentimes using custom materials and designs that they have provided for you
Utilize Hubspot, WAZER’s CRM, for all of your interaction with leads
Close sales, generate revenue and earn a commission on deals that you worked
Document the investigations you’ve performed to convince a lead that WAZER is a good solution for them. Convert this content into sales enablement tools for the sales team to use in future interactions
Recommend, design and implement sales system improvements to make the sales team’s work more efficient
Participate in the company’s exhibitions at industry trade shows, including travel, setup/breakdown, staffing the booth and engaging with visitors

Required

Manufacturing and fabrication knowledge. You need to know how things are made, so that you can understand a lead's challenges and requirements and can assess whether or not WAZER will work for their application. So you've done some or all of the following: spent time in a machine shop, designed and built prototypes, used metalworking equipment, used digital manufacturing tools, used engineering CAD software
Previous experience in an inside sales environment with a technical product
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and CRM software
Comfortable performing live demos over Zoom, and in person
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent phone skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Strong listening and presentation skills
