Responsibilities

Preparing faculty / classified employee information for payroll processing
Completing wage and employment verification requests
Issuing payments to clear liability accounts for retirement, rent, computer loans and campus foundations
Producing manual checks and processing refunds
Making necessary adjustments to correct over-payments
Ensuring proper payment distribution
Processing faculty / classified retirement payments
Reporting to vendors and reconciling retirement accounts regularly
Handling direct deposit reports, recalls, and payments
Supporting general financial duties and assisting with miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the department

Qualification

Required

This position requires graduation from high school and two (2) years of financial records maintenance experience which included such duties as controlling accounts payable/receivable; preparing financial reports for internal management use; and reconciling complex accounts; OR
Two (2) years of experience as an Accounting Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR
One (1) year as an Accounting Assistant IV in Nevada State service; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
This position requires experience processing payroll, using Microsoft Word in a business setting, using Microsoft Excel in a business setting, proficiency with Ten Key by Touch (A skills test will be administer upon interview)
