Responsibilities

Manage resident care services staff, oversee the overall direct care of the residents, and assist the Administrator in ongoing planning, organizing, directing and coordinating all direct care activities
Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes

Required

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in gerontology, nursing, health administration, a health-related field, business administration, or public administration
One year of experience supervising professional and assistive staff in a health service program such as a residential care facility, home health care service, hospital, doctor's office, or similar experience in social or community service management
Completion of a Nursing Home Administrator-in-Training program will substitute for the required bachelor's degree
Three years of nursing experience and eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse or registered nurse with the State of Alaska will substitute for the bachelor's degree
Positions require a background investigation including fingerprinting and a valid Alaska driver's license
At time of interview applicant must provide: Two (2) professional references (including work/supervisor-related) and three (3) character references (personal) with current contact information
If selected and prior to hire, applicant will be asked to: Submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening
Provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) with test results dated within the last 12 months prior to start date
Provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s), if available

Preferred

Healthcare Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, patient care standards, and medical procedures relevant to Assisted Living and Pioneer Homes
Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing Pioneer Homes, always ensuring compliance
Administration and Management: Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production
Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire and manage a team effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Written Communication: Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience
