BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN II

NEOGOV is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician II to join the Fulton County Co-Responder Team, which focuses on crisis intervention and support for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The clinician will respond to 911 calls, conduct assessments, de-escalate crises, and connect individuals to community services.

Responsibilities

Deploys alongside law enforcement to behavioral health-related 911 calls to conduct on-site evaluations, de-escalate crises, and provides clinical support
Conducts diagnostic assessments and risk screenings (e.g., Columbia Suicide Risk Screening, Mini Mental Status Exams)
Develops and implements person-centered treatment and safety plans, ensuring connection to community resources and appropriate levels of care
Provides short-term individual, family, and/or group behavioral health interventions
Monitors and documents clients’ progress, level of functioning, and adherence to follow-up care
Coordinates with case managers, peer specialists, law enforcement, hospitals, courts, and behavioral health providers
Maintains timely and accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA, DBHDD policies, and professional standards
Participates in team briefings, cross-trainings, and debriefings related to field activities
Serves as a liaison between the Department of Behavioral Health, local service providers, and criminal justice stakeholders

Required

Master's Degree in Behavioral Science (psychology, social work, sociology) or special education; supplemented by training as a social worker, professional counselor, psychiatric nurse, or psychologist; and two years of experience providing behavioral health services; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Must possess state of Georgia license as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, rehabilitation counselor; or certification in special education

Preferred

Master's degree in Behavioral Science (psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, or related field)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and one year experience in crisis response, mobile behavioral health, or co-responder work
Valid Georgia Driver's License
Licensed in the State of Georgia as one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychologist, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Psychiatric Registered Nurse
