Telephone Service Representative
The State of South Dakota is seeking a Telephone Service Representative for the Public Safety agency based in Pierre, SD. This role involves providing exceptional customer service and administrative support related to driver licensing, including answering inquiries and processing documentation.

Responsibilities
Provide accurate information regarding driver’s licenses, instruction permits, and commercial driver licenses
Assist customers with questions about required documents, reinstatement fees, and other licensing-related matters
Answer incoming calls and complete daily administrative tasks that support the overall operations of the Driver Licensing Program
Process driving records, send suspension or revocation notices, and track surrendered licenses
Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and interpret statutes and administrative rules
Read and understand court records and driving records accurately
Work effectively with a diverse group of people and maintain a non-judgmental, professional demeanor
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Qualification
Required
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Strong customer service skills
Ability to handle inquiries effectively
Ability to resolve conflicts and de-escalate difficult situations
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Ability to remain calm and professional under stress and demonstrate strong coping strategies
Ability to adapt to changing policies, procedures, and technology
Knowledge of motor vehicle laws, licensing regulations, and agency procedures
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
Knowledge of office systems, data entry processes, and record-keeping standards
Knowledge of basic computer applications and phone system operations
Attention to detail
Proficiency with computer systems and office software
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
