Grants and Fiscal Accountant

WorkLife Law at UC Law San Francisco is seeking a Grants and Fiscal Accountant to perform accounting and financial service functions for programs funded by grants. The role includes preparing financial projections and budgets, monitoring compliance with fund requirements, and providing support for fiscal operations.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and coordinates the centralized accounting and financial reporting for assigned grant portfolio, including preparing annual and project budgets, forecasting revenue, estimating any carry-over of funds from one year to the next
Research issues and prepare invoice requests for the support of restricted fund expenditures
Prepares or assists in the preparation of all applicable fiscal reports for sponsored programs and ensures the timely submission thereof
Coordinates with key personnel at all levels of the College to support proper and timely expenditure of grant funds in compliance with applicable guidelines and budget deadlines
Develops positive working relationships to foster a collaborative environment for grant coordination and oversight
Attends professional development training and stay abreast of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars and their applicability to grant management related audit, federal regulations, state laws and District policies, and any workshops or seminars on grants or special revenues
Compiles year-end reports, work papers and analysis necessary for the College’s budget officers and auditors to complete the yearly audit of grants
Maintains grant fiscal records and database
Monitors charges for reasonableness and compliance with policies and procedures
General administrative support to Director of the Office of Sponsored Projects
Performs other duties as assigned
Provides support to the Associate Director of Fiscal Operations by performing assigned Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties, including invoice entry, billing, expense approval, and cash deposit processing and application
Works collaboratively with staff in other departments
Serves as a member of the College’s audit team and assists in preparing schedules, reports, and other documents as required by the auditors
Suggests updates of the AR procedure manual
Assists in supporting students and other College customers at the Fiscal Services office

Required

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline
At least two years of State budget experience is required, that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Experience in presenting information clearly to various audiences, including the College Administration and Board of Directors
Familiarity with the California Department of Finance or other state-level budget principles and practices

Preferred

Master's Degree in finance or business administration preferred, but not required
