Responsibilities

Application & Technology Portfolio Management and Modernization Scorecard support

Support the design and evolution of APM and TPM frameworks, including lifecycle states, categorization schemes, and assessment criteria

Help mature APM capabilities across stages (e.g., inventory → assessment → rationalization → modernization)

Enable consistent linkage between business architecture constructs (capabilities, processes, value streams) and application and technology portfolios

Design and evolve a modernization scorecard that assess applications and technologies across architectural criteria that can recommend modernization tactics and effort

Ensure modernization metrics are standardized, comparable, and decision‑ready for governance

Help define standards, guardrails, and thresholds that guide modernization decisions at scale

Architecture as Data Enablement

Lead the transition from point‑in‑time architecture documentation to structured, governed architecture data that can be analyzed, reused, and kept current

Define and apply business design and architecture modeling standards to ensure architecture artifacts are created as data, not documents

Establish and maintain core architectural relationships and metadata required for portfolio analysis and decision support

Embed architecture data and scorecards into portfolio and modernization governance processes, including review cycles and decision checkpoints

EA Tooling & Modeling (Enabler, Not Administrator)

Leverage EA tools (e.g., ARIS and Alfabet) to model, manage, and maintain architecture data and relationships

Ensure tool usage supports analysis, traceability, and integration rather than static diagramming

Collaborate with EA and tool owners to evolve the architecture metamodel in support of APM and modernization objectives

Collaboration & Change Enablement

Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, Product, Engineering, and Portfolio teams to align on models, data needs, and outcomes

Help teams adopt model‑driven, data‑centric ways of working through guidance, examples, and patterns

Communicate complex architecture and portfolio concepts in clear, business‑oriented language
