Responsibilities

Support the design and development of new processes or improvement to existing processes at Corning facilities worldwide
Lead and support solving problems and improving processes based on fundamental understanding and structured problem solving methods such as KT, Designed Experimentation, or Six Sigma
Champion the implementation of Process Control and Process Discipline systems into manufacturing operations, as well as, use your analytical skills to analyze process data using statistical tools (e.g. pareto, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, gauge R&R, etc.)
Other responsibilities include measuring and communicating performance against established objectives, reviewing and interpreting data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc., and documenting processes and mentoring operators and peers on defined processes

Required

We require a minimum of BS in chemical, materials, ceramic or mechanical engineering (MS preferred) with a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant hands-on experience in engineering/manufacturing with a track record of successfully solving process problems based on fundamental understanding
Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects
Using creative and innovative problem solving approaches, methods, and execution
Experience completing projects in a manufacturing organization
Excellent Analytical Skills - Decision-making based on data
Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions

Preferred

Knowledge of Corning's businesses
Prior experience in a plant or division engineering group
Strong internal Corning network
Performance Excellence training - ideally, green belt or higher certification - LEAN Manufacturing
Project management skills
Some mechanical aptitude/equipment understanding
