Responsibilities

Responsible for providing consistency and improvements across the plant engineering department processes. Continuously reducing variability through the monitoring of all Quality and HSE events
Deep knowledge of engineering first principles, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), statistical tools, Lean Manufacturing Practices, and champion the use of these tools within the plant engineering and process teams
Knowledgeable of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Critical Process Parameters (CPPs), Critical Operating Parameters (COPs), throughput/capacity to guide decision making
Support or lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve process and operational problems, and ensure formal problem-solving techniques are appropriately utilized
Understand and ensure compliance with engineering standards, and environment health and safety requirements
Develop and guide plant engineers through deviations, control strategies, change controls etc. Lead more complex investigations and author technical documentation, change controls etc
Effectively communicate as a member of the Plant Engineering and the Utilities Process Teams
Assess/identify opportunities to improve plant engineering processes, recommend solutions, and manage implementation
Understand the basis for equipment qualification and ensure it is appropriate for the intended purpose
Present and attend various governance teams to represent plant engineering
Consistently demonstrate good technical and business justification documentation for projects including project plans, HSE reviews, design documents, business cases, etc. for driving technical agendas
SAFETY: Ensures overall job environmental, health and safety aspects and understands the risks and liabilities associated with various activities. Take actions, including initiating Facilities and Engineering projects to address or prevent unsafe conditions for self and site personnel
Will interact with system end user, HSE, QA, QC, Process Control Engineering, Validation, design consultants and construction contractors

Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline
5-7+ Experience in working in a GMP environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Problem Solving skills – Anticipates and resolves complex problems
Strong leadership skills
Thorough technical understanding of the quality systems and regulatory requirements
Possess a passion for driving continuous improvement and standardization practices

Preferred

Six Sigma experience a plus
Strong organizational skills
Be self-motivated, confident, able to influence and have a self-directed personality with able to work independently as well as in a team environment
