Parking Enforcement Officer
The City of Salem is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work as a Parking Enforcement Officer. This role involves patrolling designated areas to ensure vehicles are parked legally and safely, providing assistance to the public, and resolving parking-related issues.

Responsibilities
Monitor vehicles parking in time-limited parking spaces on foot or by vehicle to ensure compliance with parking regulations
Attach vehicle boots and arranges towing services for vehicles as necessary
Investigate contested parking citations to determine their validity and respond to complaints in a professional and courteous manner
Resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues
Write reports using a handheld ticket writer, desktop computer, digital camera, and/or portable radio
Prepare and maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation
Present evidence in court room setting when/if citations issued are contested
Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects with or without accommodation. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing 2 hours or more, walking, use manual dexterity, grasping and repetitive motions with or without accommodation
Perform special parking enforcement and/or other essential related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must pass the pre-employment background check
Must have an Oregon Driver license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards
High school diploma or GED and three years of transactional customer service experience, including in-person verbal communication with customers relating to business policies and procedures, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions
Preferred
Bilingual skills are desired
