Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with business leaders and other members of the legal team to:
Serve as primary legal contact for assigned business units, providing strategic guidance on a broad spectrum of legal issues
Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of complex agreements, including enterprise master agreements, software licensing, SaaS, payment processing, professional services, marketing and vendor agreements
Review and prepare responses to government RFPs
Track legislation and new industry rules, trends and regulations concerning payment transactions
Effectively communicate directly with leaders regarding legal matters
Constantly learn, improve and adapt to new industry trends and requirements
Complete other ad hoc legal assignments
Qualification
Required
J.D. from accredited U.S. law school; licensed in good standing with a State Bar, as applicable per location
2-7 years of general corporate or commercial contract experience as an attorney, preferably at a large law firm
Prior experience negotiating complex contracts, preferably related to Fintech, payment systems, money transmission, or software licensing
Background in handling privacy and AI compliance matters
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and provide business-practical legal advice
Self-starter and ability to manage various independent tasks and customers
Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to team environment
The ability to travel up to once/month for onsite contract negotiations and client collaboration
Preferred
Experience contracting with state or federal governments is desirable, but not necessary
