Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend microservices using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot
Own features end-to-end, including API contract definition and database schema design (SQL and/or NoSQL)
Build and maintain RESTful APIs within a microservices-based architecture
Enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment velocity, reliability, and system quality
Implement observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing) to ensure operational health and enable rapid production troubleshooting
Use Docker to support local development and service orchestration
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to coding standards and engineering best practices
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional engineering teams
Qualification
Required
4+ years of professional backend software development experience
Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with hands-on experience using Spring Boot
Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in a microservices environment
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Solid experience with SQL and at least one NoSQL database (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Ability to break down complex technical problems and clearly articulate trade-offs
Experience owning or leading small-to-medium feature efforts within an Agile team
Preferred
Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
Background building internal frameworks, shared libraries, or platform services
Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) or hexagonal architecture
Experience working in modern monorepo environments
Exposure to frontend API integration using React (preferred), Vue, or Angular
Working knowledge of TypeScript for defining client-side models and interfaces
Familiarity with state management patterns (React Query, Redux, Zustand) and API considerations such as caching and invalidation
