Legal Assistant/ Paralegal
Abrams Fensterman, LLP is a full-service law firm committed to providing quality counsel and innovative solutions. They are seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support their Mental Health and Hygiene team, responsible for drafting litigation documents, managing administrative duties, and liaising with clients.

Responsibilities
Drafting litigation documents including, motions, orders, and post-judgment work
Drafting correspondence, responses according to judicial procedures, and other related documents
Preparing and maintaining files in both paper and electronic forms
Maintain detailed calendars in Outlook, scheduling and coordinating internal and external meetings, as necessary
Knowledge of Guardianship pleadings and proceedings, helpful
Manage administrative duties including but not limited to arranging conference calls, meetings, creating and maintaining paper and electronic files, miscellaneous photocopying, scanning, and printing requests
Create, edit, format, and proofread letters, memos, and other documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Request conflict checks, open new client matters, and submit electronic approvals, as needed
Liaise directly with clients and third parties through all phases of litigation and/or case resolution
Taking phone calls/accurate messages for multiple attorneys as well as handling calendars
Other ad hoc projects as needed
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of experience in an administrative capacity
Experience with drafting legal documents, through all phases of litigation, including discovery requests, RJIs, motions, stipulations, subpoenas, notices, and post-judgment papers
Experience formatting briefs, and preparing exhibit books
OCR documents
Experience with filing court documents, including e-filing in both state and federal courts (NYSCEF and ECF)
Experience tracking court dates and deadlines
Must be extremely organized and able to maintain a high case volume
Eagerness to learn new skills
Must be familiar with MS Office skills (including Excel and Outlook), Adobe, West Law, Litify, etc
Excellent communication skills and a polished presentation
At least 3-5 years of experience providing administrative support in a law firm environment
Excellent client service and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
Proactive and anticipatory
Solid knowledge of computers and software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to think clearly and work well under pressure in a busy environment
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of staff within the office
Preferred
Paralegal Certificate
Knowledge of Litify or equivalent law firm billing experience
