Responsibilities

Sourcing, purchasing, and tracking materials and specialty components
Maintaining appropriate inventory levels
Reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy
Requesting and evaluating quotes
Negotiating pricing
Managing vendor relationships
Monitoring lead times
Proactively resolving material delays
Processing purchase orders
Maintaining pricing
Keeping vendor records up to date
Building, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule
Balancing labor, machine capacity, and material availability
Communicating schedule changes
Coordinating closely with production and project teams
Tracking work-in-progress
Updating job status within the ERP system
Identifying bottlenecks
Recommending workflow improvements
Running ERP/MRP reports related to shortages, production load, and vendor performance
Supporting inventory counts and reconciliation

Required

2+ years' experience in manufacturing operations
2–4 years of experience in purchasing, scheduling, or operations
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes—such as CNC machining, metal fabrication, welding, paint, print, and assembly
Hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems
Strong analytical skills to identify bottlenecks and recommend workflow improvements
Strong communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills
Intermediate proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, custom-production environment

Preferred

Experience in custom or project-based manufacturing
Ability to read shop drawings
Continuous improvement mindset
