Field Decommission Technician

Responsibilities
Field Decommission Technicians are responsible for safely decommissioning power distribution equipment in commercial and industrial facilities
They disconnect, dismantle, and remove electrical systems such as switchgear, transformers, and panels while adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory standards
Disassemble decommissioned power distribution units
Salvage metals and useable parts from decommissioned power distribution units
Proper handling and disposal of oils, solvents and other liquid compounds
Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools
Ability to operate cutting torch to cut metal parts
Operate forklift, overhead crane and other material handling equipment as needed
Responsible for all shop equipment and tools in his/her worksite
Must be willing to travel throughout the Emerald Transformer service territory
Overnight and extended stays near customer locations are required
Must be willing to work overtime and call-in hours to meet all customer needs
This includes evening and weekend responses to emergency calls as required
Work requires close interaction with other associates
Must be able to function in a team-oriented environment
When field decommission work is not scheduled, work at the home facility will be assigned
This assignment will be determined by the facility Plant Manager

Hardworking
Physical ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs force frequently
Comfortable working in extreme heat and cold
Must be self-directed and able to satisfactorily complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner with minimal supervision
Ability to use basic hand tools, gauges, and test equipment
Preferred
Valid US Driver's license is preferred
