Responsibilities
The Director of Development is a strategic leader responsible for driving the company’s growth through new store development, franchise expansion, market planning, construction oversight, and cross-department collaboration
This role ensures all new locations open on time, on budget, and in full alignment with brand standards and company values
The Director partners closely with Operations, Training, HR, Finance, and Marketing to deliver a seamless development lifecycle and support sustainable long-term growth
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Real Estate, or related field (Master's preferred)
7–10 years of progressive experience in multi-unit development, construction management, or franchise development
Strong understanding of real estate negotiations, lease structures, budgeting, and project management
Proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams and external vendors
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
Ability to travel regularly based on project needs
Preferred
Experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, or franchise environments
Knowledge of CAD drawings, permitting processes, and architectural plan interpretation
Familiarity with project management tools, ERP/HRIS integrations, and development dashboards
Track record of opening multi-unit locations on aggressive timelines
