Plastics Quality Engineer

They are seeking a Quality Engineer to assist with the development and implementation of quality and manufacturing processes to ensure injection molded products meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
Overseeing the coordination of our electronic document control system to manage the currency of key documents used to manufacture products (such as product drawings, procedures, work instructions, etc.)
Compiling part-specific documentation and training materials for Factory Order Packets used on the manufacturing floor by Operators, Processors and other personnel (visual attribute/defect sample sheets; work station layouts; Quality Inspection Plans; Packaging instructions; etc.)
Assisting with the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System to ensure compliance with applicable customer requirements and certification standards
Assisting with the ongoing coordination of quality management system audits, including registrar audits, internal audits, customer audits and special surveys/self-audits requested of customers and/or prospects
Overseeing assigned quality and/or manufacturing related continuous improvement projects to improve product quality and/or process flow
Assisting QA personnel with visual and/or dimensional inspections (start-up/first piece inspections; in-process inspections; containment/rework inspections, etc.) as needed to help ensure that molded parts meet customer quality requirements
Providing support to Quality management and/or Technician staff to assist with ongoing departmental tasks (such as metric reporting; customer complaint investigations; deviation requests; calibration activities; etc.)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering or a related engineering discipline or the equivalent combination of vocational training and hands-on work experience, with an emphasis in Plastic Injection Molding
1-2 years of experience working in a structured / regulated manufacturing environment (automotive components, medical device manufacturing, etc.)
Knowledge / experience with statistics/SPC, Gage R&R, Gage Calibration, & Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Ability to utilize personal computers, computer related software, and measuring / inspection equipment commonly found in a QA Lab (micrometers, calipers, OGP measuring systems, Minitab, etc.)
Knowledge / experience with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and inspection methods, terminology, and procedures necessary to maintain the quality of plastic injection molded products
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part prints
Knowledge of quality management system (QMS) certification standards and auditing procedures, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or ISO 13485
Preferred

Independent work ethic who can work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, and use initiative to bring tasks to completion in an efficient manner
