Responsibilities
Department Architecture: Transition our current accounting processes into a high-functioning, automated department that not only displays the financial performance of the business but can explain the “why” of “what” happened in the business, and then make recommendations for business improvement
Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage all aspects of QuickBooks Online (QBO), including a strict 10-day monthly close, accrual adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliations
Complex Payroll & 1099s: Execute payroll for a diverse team of W2 providers and manage 1099-NEC payments/filings for our specialized medical contractors and dermatopathologists
Revenue Cycle Oversight: Work closely with the billing team to reconcile EMR deposits (EMA/ModMed) with bank activity, ensuring 'contractual adjustments' are recorded accurately
Territory & Unit Economics: Maintain 'Class Tracking' in QBO to provide P&L reports for each specific mobile unit and territory (Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Fort Myers.)
Accounts Payable: Modernize our vendor payment system to ensure fleet maintenance, medical supplies, and lab fees are paid timely while maximizing cash flow
Transition Accounting method from Cash Basis Accounting to Accrual Basis Accounting
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Expert-level QuickBooks Online user
Deep understanding of Accrual Basis accounting and the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Preferred
Experience with ADP (Payroll), Bill.com, and medical billing software (EMR/PM systems)
Healthcare or Multi-location experience
CPA or CMA candidate
