Responsibilities
Support and oversight to the handling Claim Examiner/TPA
Evaluation of counsel and retention of same
Evaluation of exposures, liability and damages
Evaluation of timely and appropriate reserves and settlement authority
Effective communication with all levels of the organization
Negotiating optimum claim outcomes
Effective presentations to committee
Working closely with TPA Partners, Claim Examiners, Underwriters, Actuarial, and Senior Management to communicate claim developments, research trends, develop policy wording, educate/train on legal issues
Auditing of Arch’s TPA Partners for technical and handling guideline compliance
Travel for training, audit, and case negotiations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
5-7 years of related experience with a carrier or TPA
Complex/Severity Workers' Comp/Casualty claims experience
CA, DBA or NY expertise is required
Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Exceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational lines
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
Ability to analyze, organize, and present information in a clear and succinct manner
Ability to take part in active strategic discussions
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Willing and able to travel up to 25%
