Attorney-Advisor (General)-Direct Hire Authority
USAJOBS is seeking an Attorney-Advisor to support the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) as a senior attorney. The role involves providing legal advice and counsel on complex installation legal issues, including administrative, environmental, contract, labor, international, and operations law to the 96th Test Wing and tenant units.

Responsibilities
As a senior attorney, advises the [insert Wing-level organization] Commander, as well as subordinate and tenant unit commanders and managers, on a host of general law matters
For the most complex installation legal issues, prepares for and represents the AF/installation and its legal interests in correspondence, meetings, negotiations, and judicial and administrative hearings, involving federal, state, and local (and overseas, foreign) officials, parties with adverse interests, and commercial entities
Provides legal assistance to active duty military, dependents, eligible Department of Defense (DoD) civilians, retirees, and other DoD cardholders, consistent with Air Force Instructions (AFIs) and legal office policy
Qualification
Required
Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association
Must provide proof, dated within four months of application, of 'active' status with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia
Must have professional legal experience in excess of two years commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of this position
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
U.S. Citizenship is required
Males must be registered for Selective Service
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Overtime may be required
Employee must maintain current certifications
Employee must be an active member, in good standing, (letter within last 4 months) of the bar of the highest court of a state, United States (U.S.) commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia
Employee must adhere to the Air Force Rules of Professional Conduct
Attorney appointments are subject to serve a one-year probationary period
Periodic travel away from the normal duty station may be required
Incumbent is required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form No. 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually
Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement
