They are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist in the design and development of fusion stellarator magnets and systems, providing hands-on experience in mechanical design and prototyping.

Responsibilities

Assist in creating and updating CAD models and engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies
Support design reviews, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with engineering standards
Participate in prototype development, including assembly and testing of components and systems

Required

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study
Software skills such as experience using NX or other CAD software
Ability to receive guidance, work independently, and contribute to a team
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for prototyping
Ability to perform rigorous measurements with attention to sources of error
Strong safety mindset

Preferred

Familiarity with superconducting materials is not required, but knowledge of or eagerness to learn about superconductivity and cryogenic materials testing will be helpful
