Responsibilities
Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks
Splicing, testing, and repairing fiber cables
Working with optical equipment
Ensuring proper network functionality
Collaborating with team members to meet customer service and network infrastructure requirements
Qualification
Required
Splicing fiber, fusion splicing or mechanical splicing of fiber strands
Experience with stringing fiber lines between poles, attaching cables using lashers, clamps and brackets
Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity and hardware issues
Familiarity with fiber technology, tools, and materials
Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform physically demanding tasks
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
A high school diploma or equivalent
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel long distances to various job sites as needed
Preferred
Additional certifications in fiber optics or telecommunications are a plus
