Corporate Sustainability Intern
Hawaiian Telcom is focused on reducing energy and carbon emissions and improving sustainability. The Corporate Sustainability Intern will support the development and implementation of sustainability programs, working on various projects that aim to enhance the company's climate action plans.

Responsibilities
Developing sustainability programs at altafiber and Hawaiian Telcom
Furthering implementation of climate action plans
Researching supply chain sustainability and waste avoidance (material circularity)
Developing energy efficiency projects
Working on LEED green building/office projects
Doing data analysis in support of sustainability
Working on real-world environmental sustainability programs in direct support of the Director of Sustainability
Project-based work with multiple projects throughout the internship
Reducing the company’s carbon emissions and waste streams (material circularity)
Certifying LEED offices
Inventorying Scope 3 emissions
Tracking ongoing projects to reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions
Qualification
Required
At least a rising junior in an undergraduate program or graduate student
Coursework or work experience related to sustainability
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional communications including phone calls, emails and in-person interactions
Proficiency in common software programs including Microsoft Office products (word, excel, PowerPoint), and web-based tools
Experience with data analysis
Preferred
Pursuit of a science, business analytics, or engineering degree preferred
