Abatement Technician

Responsibilities

Learn and perform advanced abatement tasks, including the removal and reapplication of insulating materials
Learn and ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and relevant state regulations
Manage and regulate Negative Pressure Enclosures and authorized access
Follow all safety precautions and procedures to control regulated areas and prevent cross-contamination
Complete and maintain regulatory records and documentation for NEA's (Negative Exposure Assessments)
Must be able to pass respirator fit test
Wear respiratory protection as demanded by each project for up to 12hr shifts
Maintain respiratory equipment, monitoring devices, HEPA vacuums, and other related equipment
Ensure vehicles and supplies are fully stocked, safe, in working condition, and prepared for daily working conditions
Building containment, setting up and maintaining equipment
Using various tools for abatement purposes: scrapers, hammers, power tools, knives, shovels, etc
Conduct and document air monitoring from pre-abatement to final clearances
Complete required paperwork and update project information in the database
Interface with customers and relay information to management as appropriate
Follow hazardous waste disposal procedures and documentation
Apply new environmentally safe materials post-abatement
Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in extreme conditions
Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours service calls
Maintain a clean driving record and pass background checks

Required

Entry Level position for Environmental Abatement
Ability to travel out of town as job requires
High school diploma or GED
Valid Washington State driver's license
U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien status, or authorization to work in the U.S
Must be able to pass respirator fit test
Wear respiratory protection as demanded by each project for up to 12hr shifts
Maintain respiratory equipment, monitoring devices, HEPA vacuums, and other related equipment
