Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end accounting operations, i.e., accounts payable and accounts receivable
Ensure timely processing of vendor payments and customer billings/ invoicing
Support month-end close activities by ensuring operational accounting transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documented
Collaborate with Corporate Accounting to maintain internal control procedures that safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Collaborate with Site Leadership to ensure adherence to segregation of duties, approval workflows, and documentation requirements across the site
Identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, or risk exposures and recommend corrective actions
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and remediation follow-up as needed
Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting associates, fostering accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations aligned with internal control requirements
Ensure appropriate workload distribution and cross-training to support business continuity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Five years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on transactional accounting and internal controls
Working knowledge of internal control frameworks and audit requirements
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong Excel skills
Experience in managing teams and cross-functional collaboration in a high paced global setting
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Understanding of accounting principles as they apply to organization and business matters
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to do ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations as requested
Hands-on experience with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Mainframe System (i.e., SAP, JD Edward, Oracle)
PC skills are required, including extensive spreadsheet knowledge and Microsoft Office experience required, specifically Excel, Power Point, and Word
Ability to work independently and as a team member

MBA or CPA preferred
Experience managing AP and AR processes in a manufacturing or life sciences environment preferred
