3rd Shift Recycling Handler

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a 3rd Shift Recycling Handler responsible for the overall movement, organization, handling, loading, and unloading of recyclables. The role ensures a consistent workflow of recyclables in an efficient and safe manner at the SC Johnson-Waxdale facility.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall movement, organization, handling, loading and unloading of all recyclables at the SC Johnson-Waxdale facility
Ensure consistent workflow of recyclables in the most efficient and safe manner
Responsible for Fork Truck operation in a safe and proper manner to load recyclable material unto trailers and into hopper(s) in both the baler and grinder
Responsible for full operation of the trash compactor while safely operating the dumpster tipper and trash compactor
Responsible for full operation of baler(s) including start-up, conveyor and baler operations, bale trying and bale ejection
Responsible for full operation of the Grinder
Responsible for maintaining the Goodwill Recycling Areas in Building 50 to include the following: dock area including lower area, drum sorting and storage area, dumpster drop-off area, recyclable drop-off area and entire Goodwill/SCJ Recycling Area
Keep recycling area clean and organized. Notify supervisor of major obstacles or impediments to smooth and organized work flow
Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
Responsible for operation of dock doors and controls, lift plates and lights
Utilize hand trucks for material handling when required
Stage, load and unload all incoming and outgoing shipments
Other duties as assigned

Fork Truck Certification
Ability to accept constant change, direction and supervision
Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and conflicting work schedules
Ability to work with others, be well motivated and have a positive approach
Ability to listen, comprehend process (into action) and retain instructions
Functional ability to read, write and perform basic math functions
Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and controls
Full range of motion
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Ability to push and/or pull crates weighing 300 pounds with equipment assistance
Capable of working in a non-air conditioned factory environment
Proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be used at all times when appropriate (safety glasses, gloves, steel toe shoes and hearing protection)
Capable of hearing and responding to warning devices on equipment and forklifts
