Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day plant operations with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, and production efficiency
Monitor product quality, materials handling, and shift communications
Align shift activities with production goals and resource planning
Oversee mechanical and electrical maintenance teams executing preventive and corrective maintenance (PM, PdM, RCFA)
Manage work orders, scheduling, and asset reliability processes
Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety, quality, and operational standards
Authorize work permits and ensure Lockout/Tagout and other safety protocols are followed
Lead and develop a frontline team of skilled trades and technicians
Promote a safety-first culture with a focus on continuous improvement
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance oversight
Support employee development and engagement initiatives
Conduct routine safety and environmental audits
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support projects and plant improvements
Troubleshoot operational and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree (Required): Preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
A degree in Business may be considered with relevant experience
2–5 years of technical experience in maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related industrial environments
Demonstrated leadership traits, even in non-supervisory roles (e.g., team lead, shift lead, supervisor experience in any industry)
Strong understanding of mechanical or electrical maintenance processes, reliability programs, and asset management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Familiarity with maintenance systems (e.g., Maximo), plant systems (e.g., Pi, OIS), and timekeeping tools (e.g., Kronos) is a plus
Experience in chemical or fertilizer production, especially involving ammonia systems, is a strong asset
