Responsibilities

Schedule, organize and support product evaluations and other customer and supplier related events in the PEC
Assist with capturing data, pictures, and key attributes during product evaluations
Maintain the condition, appearance, function, and organization of the PEC
Manage, schedule, and execute the cleaning of equipment as needed
Manage the maintenance and calibration of PEC equipment (e.g., ovens, grills, fryers, testing and analytical equipment, etc.)
Communicate with QA, merchandising, sales, suppliers, and customers to understand specific needs for evaluations and events. Then plan ahead to ensure the proper support for those events
Manage the purchasing of supplies needed to support the PEC and the Sysco FSQA Department (including but not limited to item selection, entering and approving POs, Invoicing, completing Goods Received Receipts, etc.)
Receive, store, and organize supplies
Manage and schedule the routine maintenance, calibration, and immediate repairs of PEC equipment (e.g., ovens, grills, fryers, testing and analytical equipment, etc.)
Respond to customer inquiries on product related questions and specifications. Support the FSQA, Merchandising and Sales teams with various information or data requests as needed
Speak and interact with PEC visitors (e.g., customers, suppliers, internal colleagues up to the executive level, etc.) in a professional manner on a daily basis
Manage PEC Budget to ensure supplies and equipment purchases are approved and meet budget
Assist QA Program Quality Managers in coordinating Merchandising and Sales for supplier/customer presentations, events and/or product evaluations
Assist in the set-up and break down of events or evaluations
Check in products and label (product identification and sorting by “LOT” if applicable)
Manage and schedule the proper evaluation stations and equipment to support various events
Manage PEC calendar for event bookings
Assist in cooking/preparation of product according to cooking/preparation instructions during evaluations
Take photos and documentation during product evaluations. Create product evaluation reports after events are complete
Display product(s) to be evaluated in accordance with the purpose of the evaluation (Example: triangle test, blind comparison, etc.)
Assist in gathering information to be compared during product evaluations/presentations. Information may include, but is not limited to specification(s), label(s), etc
Assist in comparing product(s) with written specification(s). Review the following for accuracy to the specification: ingredient statement, nutrition chart, defects, etc
Assist in completing basic product evaluation activities such as weights, sensory, measurements and other key attributes of the product
Manage daily activities in the product specification system including updating files, user management, servicing Operating Site/customer requests for spec/nutritional information
Assist in collecting supplier documentation such as product information and audits
Complete other essential job duties as directed by Directors and Program Quality Managers

Required

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage

Proficient in Windows Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point)
Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Ability to understand & carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to use laboratory equipment, food preparation equipment, personal computer, and office communication equipment
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Valid driver's license

Preferred

Certificate or associate degree from college, technical school
College degree; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
