Senior Business Development Manager

Outten & Golden, a nationally recognized workers’ rights law firm, is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to help drive our growth and reputation. The role involves overseeing integrated marketing and business development plans for various practice groups, managing direct reports, and collaborating with internal and external teams to support practice growth.

Responsibilities

Develop integrated marketing and business development strategies for several practice areas, built around the Firm’s target clients, cases, and capabilities, as well as the underlying legal issues that affect employees
Act as a strategic advisor for attorneys in several practice areas, drawing on the Firm’s internal and external resources to provide effective support
Oversee the work of a senior content strategist who produces employee-focused marketing communications, including blog posts, articles, surveys, and opinions; manage other direct reports as necessary
Collaborate with the Firm’s public relations team to communicate new case filings, case updates, and attorney commentary to the media
Support practice growth by identifying and securing attorney participation in industry conferences, bar association conferences, and nonprofit events
Oversee a pipeline of digital advertising campaigns, working closely with an external vendor on strategy, creative, and campaign performance and optimization
Collaborate with internal teams to provide company, industry and issue specific research for attorneys
Proactively assume other duties as necessary, including but not limited to the maintenance of client marketing lists, assistance with marketing technology projects, report generation, content writing and editing, award and directory submissions, and other tasks that support practice growth and the delivery of exceptional service to clients

Required

You have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in a professional services organization with multiple business functions and internal stakeholders
You have an entrepreneurial mindset, and a broad understanding of marketing and business development tactics, including search engine optimization, search engine marketing, generative answer engine optimization, paid and organic social, public relations and communications, and content marketing
A strong understanding of the legal industry, labor and employment laws, and related workplace issues
You possess exemplary communication skills, including the ability to express, refine and deliver high-quality ideas to drive our business forward
You express yourself clearly and concisely, both written and verbally, always highlighting the most important information
You proactively communicate the status of your work and share updates with colleagues when necessary
You ensure that your work is mistake free
You must be able to adhere to firm policies regarding the protection of confidential data and demonstrate sensitivity to (and good judgment in connection with) confidential attorney, personnel, and Firm matters
You are comfortable in an environment where your responsibilities may vary from day to day, and you are able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities
You demonstrate a 'no job too big, no job too small' attitude, and take a collaborative approach to your work
You are comfortable balancing tasks of varying urgency and complexity and work well under pressure with tight deadlines
You are available to work after hours, as needed

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
