Responsibilities
The Research Affiliate I will be mentored by and work under the guidance of a Principal Investigator to develop their post-doctoral skill set
The incumbent will develop and validate high-resolution mass spectrometric methods for the analysis of ultra-trace levels of organic chemicals in human and environmental specimens; perform mass spectrometric data analysis; and prepare project reports and manuscripts for publication
The Research Affiliate I will also be responsible for the operation and troubleshooting of LC-MS/MS and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) instruments
Qualification
Required
PhD in natural sciences, environmental science and engineering, or an appropriate field
Preferred
Experience in the analysis of microplastics in environmental specimens using py-GC–MS
Experience in the analysis of plastic additives in human and environmental specimens using LC-MS/MS
Experience in development and validation of GC-MS and LC-MS/MS methods for microplastics and plastic additives
Experience authoring publications for peer-reviewed journals
