The State of Iowa - Executive Branch is dedicated to Making Lives Better Through Transportation. The Engineering Office Assistant 2 will provide administrative support to the Maintenance Bureau, assist with program planning and development, and deliver exceptional customer service to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the Director, Assistant Director, and staff within the Maintenance Bureau, as well as field personnel
Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Assist with the administration, planning, and development of Maintenance Bureau programs and contracts
Coordinate and support bureau and statewide meetings/committees, including preparing detailed attendance records and meeting minutes
Schedule and coordinate out-of-state travel arrangements for the Maintenance Bureau
Participate in committees and initiatives such as the Compass Mentoring Program

Required

Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency
A total of five years of full-time experience in highway design, maintenance, construction, or materials; or administrative support in inventory management, training programs, administrative recordkeeping or closely related areas
A total of five years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as an Engineering Office Assistant 1 or three years of full-time work experience in highway design, maintenance, construction, or materials
