Responsibilities
This is a hands-on backend AI engineering role focused on Python, AWS, and Generative AI integrations
The selected candidate will work on building, deploying, and scaling AI-driven backend services and agent-based systems in an enterprise environment
Qualification
Required
6+ years of backend engineering experience using Python
Strong experience building REST APIs using FastAPI
1 to 2+ years of hands-on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models
Experience with Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Gateway
Hands-on experience with agent frameworks such as Strands SDK, LangChain, or LlamaIndex
Experience building stateful agents, custom tools, and MCP-based solutions
4+ years of hands-on AWS experience
Strong experience with ECS Fargate, ECR, API Gateway, and Route 53
Solid understanding of IAM, Secrets Manager, and VPC configuration
3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CDK
Candidates must be local to New Jersey
In-person (face-to-face) interview is mandatory
Candidates must possess a valid New Jersey ID
This is a contract role
Preferred
Experience with vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation
Familiarity with Pinecone, Qdrant, or similar vector database solutions
