IoT Automation Engineering Intern

This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking for hands-on experience in IIoT, PLC programming, and environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities

System Integration: Assist in connecting hardware (sensors for nitrogen, temperature, pH) to our cloud-based monitoring platforms
Automation Logic: Work alongside senior engineers to develop and test PLC/MCU logic for automated water bypass and harvesting systems
Edge Computing: Gain experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, MQTT, LoRaWAN) and hardware like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or industrial PLCs
Data Visualization: Help build dashboards to track real-time carbon sequestration and water quality metrics
Troubleshooting: Participate in remote and on-site diagnostics of automated environmental systems

Required

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field
Basic understanding of microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators
Exposure to Python, C++, or structured text (PLC programming)
Prior experience with industrial communication protocols is a must with preference for Modbus, TCP protocols and LoRa with the ability to integrate MQTT as well
A genuine interest in climate tech and sustainable infrastructure
Ability to work independently and communicate technical updates to a remote team

Preferred

Familiarity with IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, ThingsBoard, or Azure) is a plus
