Responsibilities
Product requirements refinement & technical interpretation
Perform technical validation and qualification of access platforms including OLTs, ONTs, optics, line cards, RGs, and supporting systems
Develop technical design specifications, deployment standards, and operational playbooks for PON/FTTx rollout in MDUs
Support multi-gig service enablement (XGS-PON/25G PON/Coaxial/Ethernet) including performance, QoS, and customer experience
Support lab integration, test plan development, interoperability testing, performance benchmarking, and software/firmware validation
Support field trial execution including deployment prep, success criteria, service validation, and technical issue triage
Assist with provisioning workflows, ZTP, telemetry integration, and lifecycle management improvements
Conduct ODN modeling and capacity/forecast optimization (split ratios, feeder/distribution planning, optical budgets)
Document fault models, failure modes, and observability requirements for Operational support
Participate directly in vendor engagements around interop issues, software roadmaps, and feature validation
Produce structured and high-quality documentation to support network deployment and lifecycle operations
Qualification
Required
5+ years hands-on experience in PON/FTTx broadband engineering or access network architecture
Direct experience with GPON, XGS-PON, or 25G PON platforms
Familiarity with OLT/ONT ecosystems including subscriber provisioning, management, firmware workflows, and interop
Familiarity with Access network subscriber management with RADIUS and DHCP
Strong understanding of ODN/FTTx design (optical budgets, split ratios, fiber architecture)
Solid knowledge of L2/L3 LAN/WAN network protocols, BGP, MPLS, QoS, NAT, IP Gateway Firewalls, 802.3ad/802.1AX
Familiarity with DWDM technology and systems
Experience running structured lab testing (feature, performance, soak, regression)
Proven vendor interop testing, software validation, or field trial support
Preferred
Coming from telecom industry is a major plus
