Utility Maintenance Superintendent

Responsibilities

Coordinates the work activities of Line Repair work crews, technicians and inspectors
Coordinates and consults with contractors on water/sewer line repairs and participates in DRC process with engineering/planning department
Participates in Developmental Review Committee (DRC) process with Engineering and Planning departments
Investigates problems which involve water and sewer lines. Creates programs and projects to resolve problem areas. Identifies problem areas that may need capital improvements
Maintains accurate records systems of line repairs
Recruits, selects, supervises, trains, appraises, counsels, and terminates personnel in the Line Repair department
Establishes and maintains safety and training programs for department employees
Maintains preventive maintenance on department equipment and vehicles
Responsible for the preparation, administration, and monitoring of the department budget
Subject to afterhours call outs/emergencies on water and sewer outages
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
At least seven years of experience in water utilities management or has equivalent supervisory level experience
Class “B” Water License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) or ability to obtain within one year of employment
Class III Wastewater Collections License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
Valid Texas State Driver's license

Preferred

Associates degree or equivalent in water utilities management and engineering or other related preferred
Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers (BPAT)
Class “A” Water license from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
Class “A” or “B” Wastewater from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
Class “B' CDL with Tanker Endorsement
