Vice President, US Office Administration & Operations
Habitat for Humanity International is seeking a professional and experienced Vice President of USO - Administration and Operations to serve as a strategic advisor to the Senior Vice President and divisional administrative and operational lead for the US Office. This role is responsible for facilitating the alignment of operational strategies with organizational goals, effective decision-making, and successful change management, while ensuring compliance and network performance standards across the US affiliate network.
Responsibilities
Manage multi-year and annual goal setting, progress tracking, and integrated divisional planning
Provide continuity and follow-through by attending meetings of relevance to the US SVP, noting action items, and acting on their behalf for communications with other executives and staff
Establish and maintain systems and protocols regarding US-focused initiatives
Monitor and measure annual milestones established by US leadership and approved by US SVP Operations
Lead teams and initiatives dedicated to US operational compliance, network performance, and risk management
Oversee multiple and complex sets of US operational functions, including risk management (affiliate and ASO complaints, probations, and disaffiliations; crisis management); affiliate mergers/GSA changes; government grant functions, distribution, and reporting on privately funded "pass-through" grants
Oversee the affiliate accountability framework (governance documents, monitoring channels, and disciplinary actions)
Ensure that operational functions are relevant, efficient, and that results are consistently documented and analyzed
Lead the analysis and escalation of trends and findings to inform global strategies and the review/revision of policies or procedures
Facilitate alignment and integration of Area Office and US Office operational strategies with overall HFHI strategy and priorities
Support SVP efforts to define and execute strategy for the US Office Division, aligned with HFHI's global strategic focus
Partner with the US Leadership Team to facilitate effective information sharing and decision-making across workstreams and divisions
Coordinate with HFHI Office of Strategy Management and other divisional business partners regarding strategy, operational planning, and change management
Analyze and monitor financial performance across the USO division, departments, and individual team budgets, including revenue tracking and trend evaluation, to deliver actionable insights that optimize planning, resource allocation, and overall fiscal health
Conduct comprehensive budget reviews and variance analysis to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives
Develop and present financial reports and forecasts to USO senior leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities for strategic decision-making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage USO-aligned financial priorities, data, and identify cost-saving measures, and support resource optimization
Oversee revenue monitoring and performance metrics to ensure targets are met and financial goals are achieved
Actively and visibly engage in and support collaboration with affiliate and Affiliate Support Organization (ASO) leaders
Develop and nurture collaborative professional relationships with individual affiliates and ASO leaders
Provide active and visible leadership in the US Council
Represent HFHI goals, workstreams, and strategic direction among US-affiliated network leaders
Facilitate effective and dynamic decision-making in matters within the US SVP's purview
Actively support and engage in cross-functional HFHI teams, especially complaint and crisis management teams supporting the US Council and the Unify Project
At times, act as a strategic or functional lead for critical projects and manage projects that cross organizational boundaries
Facilitate meetings, deadlines, and escalation of organizational challenges as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Non-profit management, Organizational Development, Risk Management, or related field
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business operations, business administration, or organizational performance, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
Proven ability to oversee complex, multi-unit operations and manage large-scale portfolios, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
Proven ability to lead integration of enterprise-wide change initiatives, streamline processes, and drive organizational and operational transformation across departments and divisions
Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for a large department or division
Experience leveraging data analytics to drive operational efficiency
Proven ability to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards while mitigating risk and supporting strategic objectives
Proven track record of managing safety programs and regulatory compliance, preferably in an affiliated network, with strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
Ability to interface with, influence, and provide exceptional service to all levels of the organization (Board, senior leaders, middle management of HFHI, US Affiliates, international Area Offices, and country programs)
Demonstrated ability to engage senior leaders with confidence, question assumptions, and propose well-founded solutions that drive organizational success
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, deliver consultative presentations, maintain a strong customer focus, and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders
