Responsibilities
As part of a team, designs, develops, tests, and implements technology solutions that satisfy business and customer requirements and align with NFI’s strategy
Analyzes customer requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
Consults with internal staff and external vendors to evaluate overall system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement
Participates in project activities as assigned, providing status updates, resource estimates, and expert guidance on software solution scope and requirements
Documents all aspects of the software solution as a reference for future upgrade and maintenance
Learns, uses, and becomes proficient in NFI’s established standards for technology, tools, and techniques
Maintains and improves existing codebases and peer reviews code changes
Provides software solution support for escalated issues throughout all stages of the SDLC
Recommends upgrades or feature enhancements for existing systems
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management
Qualification
Required
BA/BS degree strongly preferred, will consider comparable work experience
4-6 years of relevant experience is preferred
Rarely makes the same mistake twice; learns from failure
Begins to focus on attaining expertise in one or more areas of their role
Learns quickly and makes steady progress without the need for constant significant feedback from more senior team members
Preferred
Prior experience with prompt engineering and domain-focused language models a plus
Working knowledge of RAG pipelines and vector database concepts a plus
Understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques a plus. (supervised/unsupervised/reinforcement, regression/classification/clustering, etc.)
