Be meticulous and thorough when sourcing stories
Clean, skilled writing in all formats
Balance short- and long-term projects
Utilize a creative approach to story ideation and formats
Generate executable story and project ideas
Work collaboratively with colleagues
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in journalism
Proven mastery of journalistic standards, including accuracy, fairness and other critical values, and has a clear understanding of sensitive subjects and source vetting
Has experience with a wide range of reporting techniques, including data analysis and public records requests, and is comfortable using AI technology
Adept at developing sources and convincing people to go on the record
Does not shy away from urgent, high-stakes stories, but can also balance quick investigations and longer projects that may require months of digging
Capable of collaborating with colleagues from multiple entry points
Can travel, as necessary, for stories, team meetings and trainings
