Lead Controls Engineer
GE Vernova is a global leader in grid solutions, and they are seeking a Lead Controls Engineer to oversee engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Responsibilities
Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs
Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors
Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems and systems
Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles
Uses technical experience and analytical thinking
Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements
Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field
Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a focus on power transmission systems
Strong knowledge of control theory, power system dynamics, and real-time control systems
Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and PLC programming
Experience with SCADA systems, DCS, and other industrial control systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically and strategically
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering projects
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
