SolomonEdwards is supporting a global organization in the search for a Global Process Owner (GPO) – General Accounting to lead the strategy, governance, and ongoing improvement of end-to-end Record to Report (RTR) processes. This role involves designing scalable accounting workflows, strengthening controls, and driving process standardization across regions and business units.

Responsibilities

Own global process design, governance, and continuous improvement for key General Accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, cash application, fixed assets, intercompany, and statutory accounting
Lead initiatives tied to finance technology enablement and automation, including solutions such as SAP and BlackLine (or equivalent)
Define future-state processes, global templates, and decision frameworks that promote standard ways of working across regions
Serve as the Finance liaison for SAP S/4HANA enablement within General Accounting, ensuring alignment to enterprise transformation priorities
Partner with senior Finance and IT stakeholders on governance, transformation roadmaps, and change management
Act as a key authority for system configuration and data governance—representing business needs through design, testing, and implementation
Drive rollout readiness, including training, communication, and sustained adoption plans
Establish and monitor KPIs that measure process performance, accuracy, compliance, and business impact
Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards (SOX, IFRS, GAAP)
Support a global, matrixed organization with multiple priorities and stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in finance operations, process ownership, or ERP transformation
5+ years in a leadership capacity driving global process execution or cross-functional initiatives
Strong understanding of the full RTR lifecycle, including close, journal entries, consolidation, and reporting
Hands-on experience with SAP (S/4HANA preferred) or comparable ERP platforms
Experience leading multiple process initiatives at once focused on automation, standardization, and operational excellence
Ability to influence stakeholders globally and operate effectively in a matrix environment
Strong controls mindset and knowledge of audit and compliance requirements (SOX)
CPA
IN OFFICE - 5 Days Per Week
Proven experience in modernizing accounting processes/supporting AI projects

Preferred

Familiarity with BlackLine or similar reconciliation/close automation tools is a plus
