Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

Design, review, plan, conduct, and document laboratory testing and experiments for the verification of medical devices and processes
Prepare test reports, test methods, data analyses, and data summaries
Support routine visual inspections and documentation of combination product retains
Address test non-conformances through execution of the UCC DDN process
Produce and maintain laboratory documentation that accurately records all R&D activities
Perform tests and experiments in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Quality System Regulations (QSR)
Set up, safely operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and test instruments

Required

Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to organize work priorities and meet realistic completion dates
Strong organizational skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to create, review, and coordinate test protocols and reports
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to review large amounts of data
Proficient in personal computer use with intermediate keyboarding skills
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and databases
Associate or Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
1–2 years of laboratory experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or templates
Ability to write simple reports and business correspondence
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Good judgment and practical problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
Ability to follow applicable laws and regulations and seek guidance when needed
Regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and hear
Requires close vision and color vision
May require lifting up to 25 lbs
Exposure to warehouse, manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments
Possible exposure to noise, minimal heat, and some chemical fumes
Operates and maintains laboratory test equipment and measurement instruments

Preferred

1–2 years of laboratory experience
Knowledge of design control processes, quality systems, and project management
Working knowledge of statistics
