Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service in support of water and wastewater utility operations
Resolve customer concerns, maintain billing accuracy, and foster strong relationships through responsive service and clear communication
Explain utility services, billing rates, and payment options
Collect monthly payments and establish payment arrangements
Manage delinquent accounts and assist customers with online account access
Coordinate field service appointments for on-site work, such as inspections, repairs, or key box locates
Participate in major emergencies or disasters as outlined in AWWU’s disaster plan matrix
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Three (3) years of experience in a customer service, collection, or accounting environment
Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire
Preferred
Preference will be given to Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees
Veterans who wish to be considered for interview preference must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, recognizing the person as a veteran
Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference must attach proof of current service to the application
